Malik Tillman has opened up on what winning PFA Young Player of the Year means to him as he revealed he will return to see his Rangers pals.
The USA international has had his season at the Light Blues cut short after suffering a hamstring injury in the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic. The on loan Bayern Munich man fired 12 goals and was a key plyer both under Michael Beale and Giovanni van Bronckhorst across his time at Ibrox. He returned to Germany to undergo his rehab but will be back in Glasgow again next week to catch-up with his colleagues.
He revealed which player he struck up the best bond with while admitting he is 'proud' of himself for landing one of the top awards from his fellow professionals. He said: “I am just extremely happy. I’m proud of myself. It is kind of a recognition because the other players voted for it. It is just great.”

Whether or not he will be included in the voting process next time around remains to be seen. Rangers hold an exclusive option to make his deal from the Bundesliga giants a permanent stay but nothing has been officially agreed at this stage.
But he will be back in Scotland next week to be amongst his Light Blues team-mates and says he will miss them all IF he departs following his temporary period at the club.
He continued “Everyone was quite nice, but I would say Rabbi Matondo, I had the best relationship with him.
“He told me [to come back] when I left to do my rehab in Germany. I’m going to come back next week again and see them all again, see what they’re saying.
“I’m going to miss all of those guys, that’s for sure, if I leave.”
