Rangers have received a triple cup final boost with the news that Malik Tillman, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe could all be given the green light for Sunday's Hampden showdown with Celtic.
Record Sport can reveal talisman Tillman has been cleared to return to training to prove his fitness ahead of the Old Firm showpiece. That comes after midfield lynchpin Lundstram rejoined his team mates at the club's Auchenhowie HQ , as boss Michael Beale gets set for his first crack at winning silverware.
And we also understand that striker Roofe hopes to be available for selection after medics confirmed that his latest injury will not force him back onto sidelines for the long term. The Jamaican international has spent most of the season battling to get off the treatment table but Beale has been told Roofe should be ready to be named in his Viaplay Cup final squad.
The manager will have to wait for at least another 24 hours for a final thumbs up on Bayern Munich loanee Tillman who will have to get through a session unscathed before his place is secured. Tillman has emerged as a matchwinner under Beale but missed a weekend win at Livingston after limping off at the end of a fifth round Scottish Cup victory over Partick Thistle, less than a fortnight ago.
Beale has also been left sweating over the fitness of Ryan Jack and admitted earlier this week that he might have to do without all four players for the trip to the National Stadium. But the latest update from the medical department should beef up his options as he prepares to go head-to-head with Ange Postecoglou for the first trophy of the season.
