Malik Tillman and his ascending Rangers value as transfer specialists big up 'steep development'

Malik Tillman's value has TRIPLED since joining Rangers in the summer - with popular transfer site Transfermarkt now pricing him higher than ever before.

The USA international has settled in well to life in Glasgow with his first sustained crack at first-team football going to plan, particularly since Michael Beale's arrival. He has 12 goals - eight of which have come under the Englishman - and five assists in all competitions and looks good value for the £5m fee Rangers have agreed on with Bayern to sign him permanently.

When he first arrived at Ibrox, Transfermarkt rated him at around €1.5m (£1.3m), understandably low considering he had only ever started one first-team game for Bayern. But as he racks up the senior minutes in what is proving to be an impressive breakout season, they now value him at €4.5m (£3.9m) - a figure that is only likely to increase if his form keeps up between now and the summer.

In a feature on the German edition of Transfermarkt, they said on the 20-year-old: "Tillman has experienced a steep development during the loan in Glasgow: since arriving in the summer, his market value has increased in stages from 1.5 million euros to currently 4.5 million euros, which is the highest valuation of his young career."

Tillman continued his surge to prominence with a match-winning double against Dundee United at the weekend and speaking before the game, Beale revealed talks are ongoing with Bayern to make the deal permanent. Rangers have a clause in the player's loan that gives them the option to sign him permanently for £5m and it Beale is keen to trigger that and bring him to Ibrox long-term.

Beale said: "Ross (Wilson) is away in the background speaking to Bayern. They have obviously had a change of coach, but we want to activate the clause that we've got.

"There are discussions about that, but he has been really good for us. He has been injured of late but it's nice to see him, Todd (Cantwell) and Ryan (Kent) playing together."
