Free agent guard Malik Beasley has agreed to a one-year contract with the Detroit Pistons, as confirmed by his agency, Hazan Sports Management, on social media over the weekend. The deal is reportedly valued at more than $6 million.
Beasley's move to the Pistons comes after a season with the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2023-24 NBA campaign. Known for his sharpshooting abilities, Beasley boasted an impressive 41.3% shooting percentage from beyond the arc, attempting 6.9 three-pointers per game during his time with the Bucks. He started in 77 games for Milwaukee and has maintained a high level of durability, playing in at least 79 games for the past three seasons.
During his tenure with the Bucks, Beasley formed a formidable backcourt partnership with star guard Damian Lillard. The duo, alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez, and Khris Middleton, contributed to one of the league's most effective lineups. In the 599 minutes they shared on the court, the Bucks outscored opponents by an impressive 15.1 points per 100 possessions.
Beasley's NBA journey has seen him don the jerseys of several teams, including the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, and Los Angeles Lakers, over his eight-year career in the league.
