Raunchy male strippers The Dreamboys are set to send temperatures soaring after an Irvine bingo hall was granted a licence allowing them to perform.
Buzz Bingo in Townhead applied to North Ayrshire Council for the addition of adult entertainment to their licence as well as dance facilities and film nights.
This was to allow a one-off, and probably once-yearly, performance by the group whose members have included Love Island cast members.
The applicants said at Monday’s licensing board meeting they were trying to diversify and broaden their entertainment offering, as well as ensuring Buzz Bingo stayed in Irvine as it provided 30 jobs.
They were also facing competition from a new bingo hall in Kilmarnock.
Applicants likened the dance troupe to The Chippendales who were major stars in the 90s.
Councillor Jean McClung said she was concerned that, if this was granted, other forms of adult entertainment, including lap dancing, could end up being provided in the area.
However, the board confirmed they couldn't refuse an application for adult entertainment as it was a lawful activity.
Under questioning from Councillor Donald L Reid, the applicants said no children were allowed in the premises on the night and it was Over-18s only.
There was also monitoring of noise on the premises on a regular basis.
The board granted the adult entertainment licence although the applicants were warned to continue to monitor the noise and keep the doors and windows shut.
The Dreamboys have been entertaining millions of people around the world with their West End choreography, charming personalities and a healthy dose of cheekiness.
They offer a two-hour show where “you can let your hair down with your besties at the hottest show in town".
