Making Waves organisers release list of items banned from music festival site this weekend

Making Waves organisers have released a list of banned items forbidden from this weekend's festival.

The upcoming outdoor event is sure to be a memorable couple of days for everyone in attendance.

However, festivalgoers should be aware that a number of items are banned from the Irvine beach park event.

The list is as follows:

  • Drugs
  • Weapons
  • Flares/smoke bombs
  • Alcohol
  • Glass bottles
  • Large Bags. As a guide, A3 paper size and below are allowed. All bags will be searched and contents inspected
  • Pets
  • Gazebos
  • Professional cameras without permission
  • Unsealed bottles. Soft drinks and water will be available to buy on site.

Although booze is not allowed to be brought in, there will be an opportunity to buy alcohol on site.

The event was planned with families in mind. Event organisers have constructed the site with a county fair image in mind and hope guests will bring picnic blankets and chairs to relax in.

Festivalgoers are allowed to bring the following items on both days:

  • Food (subject to inspection. Food will be available to purchase on site)
  • Picnic rugs
  • Camp chairs (although not at front of stage)
  • Water and soft drinks in sealed plastic bottles

  • Umbrellas

The festival is a no-fly zone and any drones will not be able to hover over the site throughout the weekend.

Events staff have confirmed police will be in attendance alongside event security.
