THE A9 has been closed after a lorry burst into flames, as emergency services tackle the blaze.
Emergency services were called to the A9, south of Dunkeld, following reports of a lorry being on fire at around 6.37am on Wednesday.
Police confirmed that the north and southbound carriageways south of Dunkeld are currently closed as firefighters tackle the blaze.
Officers added that diversions are in place.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called just after 6.21am with three appliances sent to the scene.
Firefighters remain on scene as of 8.30am to tackle the blaze.
Traffic Scotland has confirmed the road closure is still in place.
It is unknown if there are any reported injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A9 north and southbound carriageways south of Dunkeld are closed due to a lorry fire.
“Diversions are in place.”
