Major Pride parade route in Nottingham announced

Nottingham Pride's parade route has been announced ahead of the event at the end of July. A celebration of Pride will take over the city on Saturday 30 July with a colourful parade, live music and inspiring speeches.

Nottingham's streets will come to life with a rainbow of colour as the parade makes it way through the city. It will last from 11am to 12pm and commence from Albert Street.

People have been asked to gather from 10am by St Peters Church to start at 11:01am. In previous Pride marches, crowds have been known to reach back to Castle Gate and Lister Gate.

The parade will feature two marching bands from Nottingham School of Samba and Can Samba. The Nottingham School of Samba will be at the front of the march and set the pace.

Followed behind them will be the Notts Pride Committee with the Pride flag. The march will then progress from Albert Street past St Peters Church into Wheeler Gate.

Those celebrating in the parade will then head up Beast Market Hill and cross onto Long Row. The march will proceed to the right of Long Row onto Pelham Street.

It will slowly move up Pelham Street to allow people to soak in the atmosphere and experience. The parade will turn left onto Old Lenton Street then turn right onto Broad Street.

The Pride parade will reach its end and is intended to finish at 12pm. A Pride Street Festival will then take place from 12 until 7pm.
