Plans for a total of 68 new homes in the village of Pinxton, on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border, have been given the green light. Planning permission has been granted for the homes off Alfreton Fields.
The homes are said to be 'affordable', according to developer Gleeson Homes, with two, three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached homes making up the 68. The development will be known as Manor Fields, and will be built on land that was previously used for horse grazing and agriculture.
Work is expected to start in August this year, and three show homes are hoped to be open by spring next year. House prices are expected to start from £159,995 for a two bedroom property.

"We are dedicated to ensuring that the housing market better serves young first-time buyers and families on low to average incomes making homeownership a reality. We are looking forward to working with the local community and we will be looking to employ a workforce that comprises of local labour and sub-contractors."
Manor Fields is close to another Gleeson development, Sutton Heights, in Sutton-in-Ashfield, which has 118 homes. Gleeson will also construct a play area at the Manor Fields development, along with green spaces.
