Major music festival set for Ayr with promoters behind Calvin Harris and David Guetta shows launching ambitious plans

A music major festival will see 10,000 fans flock to Ayr beach next year.

The team behind festivals which include chart toppers like Calvin Harris and David Guetta are set to take over the Low Green in April 2023.

Ayrshire Live can exclusively reveal plans are in place for a two-day dance party headlined by Scots hit DJ Ewan McVicar.

It comes a day after the performer sent fans into a frenzy by confirming that he’ll return to Ayr for the homecoming gig.

Now we can lift the lid on ambitious plans which will bring more top acts to play alongside the ‘Tell Me Something Good’ star.

The festival, on the weekend of April 29-30, will be organised by an umbrella group which runs the popular 'Colours' and 'STREETRAVE' events.

Bosses behind the 'Pavilion Festival' are lining up a string of big name DJs - with artists to feature over a main stage and a marquee tent also promoting local acts.

They estimate a daily attendance of 5,000 fans attending concerts on the Low Green main stage with a further capacity for 500 inside the DJ marquee.

Plans are in place for an 'Outdoor Orbital Structure' stage which will be flanked by bars, catering units, merchandise stalls and possible fairground rides.

The organisers are no strangers to hosting an event in South Ayrshire, with the same promoters behind previous shows at Prestwick Airport and Ayr Pavilion in the early 90s.

Bosses behind the event host scores of club shows every year and have brought world renowned artists to the stage such as David Guetta, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Calvin Harris M People, The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Groove Armada and Pete Tong to name but a few.

They style themselves as "one of only a handful of independent dance music promoters left in the UK".

Organisers insist the festival will be a huge boost to the local economy, with businesses set to boom from the influx of fans.

It is hoped some major names will be announced to perform along with current top UK DJs playing alongside Ewan.

Fans went wild last night when the star teased “I’m dain it” to his thousands of followers on social media alongside a graphic announcing the Pavilion Festival.

It followed a previous image the DJ had posted standing on the Low Green outside the iconic 'Piv' which sparked speculation of the major event's announcement.
