Major motorway route re-opens following collision

A SECTION of the M8 was closed following a crash on Wednesday morning as traffic began to build during the morning rush hour.

The motorway was shut between junctions 7A and 8 following the incident on Wednesday morning.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the closure shortly after 7am and warned motorists that congestion was beginning to build on the westbound carriageway.

Traffic Scotland has now issued an update that the road is running clear.
