The agent of Siriki Dembele has revealed the main reason why he left Peterborough United to join Bournemouth in January.
Dembele, 25, was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest last summer as the Reds looked to improve their attacking options under then boss Chris Hughton.
Posh chairman Barry Fry later told NottinghamshireLive that Forest had contacted Peterborough to try and organise a swap deal for Dembele with Tyler Walker heading in the opposite direction.
Forest have long been admirers of the talented frontman, but it was Bournemouth who eventually won the race for his services on a multi-year contract.
The 25-year-old has made a positive start to life in Dorset after his deadline day move, scoring a last-gasp winner on his full debut against Blackpool last week.
Speaking to Football Insider, Dembele's agent, Danny Williams, said: "There was interest from a number of clubs, come challenging for promotion, others that were making very good financial offers, and also clubs from abroad.
"The one major factor was Scott Parker, a top young manager with the credentials to go to the very top of the game.
"When a manager follows your career and shows long-standing interest from his previous club as well as his current one - it's a simple decision.
"Having made the step up through the divisions, we all felt Scott was the right man to develop under even further."
Bournemouth, currently second in the Championship, were due to play Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium on Friday night, but damage to the ground caused by Storm Eunice meant the fixture had to be called off late in the day much to the frustration of Reds fans.
With eight new signings, Parker's side are well-placed within the fight for promotion as the season heads towards it's conclusion.
