Major Edinburgh city centre road closed to traffic due to serious car accident

A major Edinburgh city centre road has been closed due to a crash involving one vehicle.

The incident took place on Sunday June 12 on Western Approach Road in the west end of the city.

One vehicle was involved and it is currently unknown if any drivers were injured in the incident.

The busy west end road will remain closed while police attend the scene.

It is likely there will be delays within the city centre due to the incident and taking an alternative route is advised.

Police Scotland shared the update, writing: "The West Approach Road at the exit for Fountain Bridge, Edinburgh will be closed for the foreseeable due to a one vehicle crash.

"Please use an alternative route."
