THE opening date for a new store by a major UK discount retail brand in Dingwall has been announced.
Plans for a new Home Bargains store were confirmed two years ago and the construction of the building is almost complete.
The discount brand has more than 500 branches across the UK with the Highland store being one of the most northerly sites for Home Bargains in Scotland.
The store will be located just behind St Clement’s School, close to Lidl, and is due to open on October 12.
Positions to work in the shop are currently advertised online on the company's website.
A spokesperson for Home Bargains said: “We are really excited to open our first store in Dingwall. The store is due to open on the October 12, 2024.
“The store will be over 20,000 square foot and in addition to our famous Top brands at Bottom Prices across our extensive range of food and non-food products, we will also have an extensive range of fresh, chilled and frozen products plus an instore bakery.
“This store will be recruiting in excess of 50 colleagues, ideally all from the local community , with all available roles advertised on our careers website.”
Planning for the Dingwall site was approved in March 2022 by the council and the development of the store is reported to be around £5 million.
