Maisie Smith confirms she will return to EastEnders and says when she'll be back

EastEnders star Maisie Smith teased her future on the long-running soap a year after leaving it.

The 21-year-old actress has been a big part of the BBC show after joining as Tiffany Butcher when she was only six years old.

She left the series in 2014 before making a quick comeback in 2016. She had a more regular role in 2018 but quit four years later.

Her character, Tiffany, had a turbulent on-off relationship with Keegan Baker and later moved to Germany with him and her brother Liam.

After enjoying life away from the soap, the actress admitted she always has the opportunity to return to the show.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, she said: "You never leave EastEnders. I’ve got a family on there that will be there for the next 50 years. I’ll always have a place there."

Asked when she would likely make a comeback to Albert Sqaure, Maisie replied: "The next time someone gets married or dies, I’m sure I’ll be back."

After leaving EastEnders, Maisie enjoyed a stint on Strictly Come Dancing with dance partner Gorka Marquez.

She reached the final but lose to Bill Bailey. However, she did meet her now-boyfriend Max George at the competition.

Last month, it was reported that she landed a role in an upcoming gangster film.

It's said the former favourite from the soap will feature in a star-studded cast for the film Bermondsey Tales: Fall Of The Roman Empire.

It's thought she will start filming on the project later this year with her character set to have a huge part in the storyline.

"She plays Chloe, a leading player in a mobster family, and will be acting alongside Alan Ford from Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Kidulthood’s Adam Deacon," a source said.

"It is an exciting new venture for Maisie and she can’t wait to dip her toe into a big new project," the source continued in a message to The Sun.

They added: "Since Strictly and EastEnders she has kept her eyes open for her next on-screen job, and the people behind Bermondsey Tales thought Maisie was the perfect fit."

The source said it's a "very exciting" project for the actress to make her mark on the industry in a wider way.
