Former EastEnders actress Maisie Smith has landed her first TV role since quitting Albert Square in December.
The twenty-year-old left her role as Tiffany Butcher in December after heartbreakingly parting ways with estranged husband Keegan Baker following a misunderstanding.
Just a number of months after she departed the soap after 13 years, Maisie has now landed a huge new TV job.
Maisie has now moved on from Albert Square and is set to rub shoulders with established presenters Alison Hammond and Vernon Kay on a new Beeb show as she heads into the world of presenting.
The former Strictly Come Dancing favourite has landed a job on Friends Like These - a remake of the programme originally presented by Geordie duo Ant and Dec.
Each episode of the new show will see two teams of five friends competing against one another in a series of head-to-head challenges in a bid to win a lavish holiday abroad.
While Alison and Vernon take care of presenting on the reboot, Maisie is expected to captain a team on the show.
A source told The Sun Online: "Maisie has just filmed a pilot episode and it's unclear if it'll air but it's a great sign she's landing these kind of shows after Strictly and EastEnders.
"Everyone thought she was really great on the show - she's so naturally funny - so it'll be the first of many new jobs."
The soap star played the role of Tiffany Butcher in EastEnders since 2008 - starting when she was just eight years old.
Maisie, now 20, filmed her last scenes as the character back in October and was 'crying the whole way through'.
At the time, she took to Instagram to pay tribute to her character, Tiffany.
Maisie shared a series of pictures of her time on the show along with an emotional caption.
"Wow. Eastenders you have been a dream," she wrote. "Lotta tears, lotta laughs and a whole lotta love.
"Episode 685 complete. Farewell Tiffany Butcher-Baker."
Maisie recently said she was inconsolable while she was filming her last scenes for the soap.
Recalling a moment filming her last scenes with her on-screen family member and pal Shona McGarty, who plays Whitney Dean, she admitted that she couldn’t stop her emotions from seeping into the scenes.
"Shona and I literally cried the whole way through and after, we got so emotional," the star explained.
"We’ve said goodbye on the show before the first time round like six or seven years ago, but it was even harder this time round because we’ve built such a lovely sister bond.
"It was a sad couple of weeks because we film out of order so I had my last scenes with people spread across a month.
"It was sad with everyone but Shona I’ve known since I was literally a baby where she would carry me on her hip, so that for me was a really hard moment."
