Mahua Moitra moves Calcutta HC alleging police inaction over egg-throwing incident

Kolkata: Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra has moved the Calcutta High Court, alleging police inaction over an incident in which eggs were thrown at her during a visit to her Krishnanagar constituency in West Bengal earlier this month.

In a plea, her counsel Arka Nag claimed police did not act properly to ensure Moitra's security during the alleged incident at Tehatta in Nadia district, where members of a rival party waved black flags and pelted eggs at her vehicle.
