A Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) in Maharashtra’s Thane district has ordered the owner of a truck to pay Rs 23.86 lakh in compensation, along with annual interest of 9%, to the family of a 22-year-old motorcyclist who died in a road accident on Ghodbunder Road in February 2016, PTI reported.
Tribunal member R V Mohite directed truck owner Ramakant Kamlakar Rane to pay the compensation to the deceased’s mother and other dependents. The interest will be calculated from the date the compensation petition was filed, according to the report.
