NAVI MUMBAI: The fight between union minister Narayan Rane and the Sena brewed up again over the safety of Devbaug village, near Tarkarli beach, Malvan. The MP fund of Rs 1 crore to repair the gabbion wall bundh to protect the village from the sea water has been sanctioned. However, while the work has been inaugurated, it cannot be completed without the CRZ approval. Rane's son, a former MP, has alleged that the Sena-led state has not given its nod for the same.
After being approached by Devbaug locals, Rane had sanctioned the fund which was approved by Sindhudurg collector subject to obtaining all permissions and no objection certificates beforehand. However, minister Rane had inaugurated the work by performing puja on May 22.
