PUNE: Maharashtra revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat on Tuesday told TOI that he would review the demand for exclusion of non-agriculture (NA) tax applicability for various housing societies that come under corporation or council areas in metro cities such as Pune and Mumbai.
All properties, including housing societies, residential plots, commercial establishments and industrial sheds, that do not fall under the “gaothan” areas as classified by the collector in accordance with the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1960, will have to pay the NA tax. The only exception is the educational institutes.
