Flossie and the Beach Cleaners said on social media: "Bioluminescence at Sandycove last night… one of our fab friends Rachel stayed until midnight to wait for it to glow … how amazing is nature."

Bioluminescence is the light emitted by organisms such as glow-worms and deep-sea fish. It is commonly found at Lough Hyne in Cork, where night kayaking tours are available to see the wonderful glow up close.
