A false claim that Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico had been admitted to an Ohio psychiatric hospital spread across MAGA-aligned X accounts, with hundreds of near-identical posts helping fuel millions of views before the facility publicly denied the allegation.
An analysis by X researcher Louis Riel (@theGhostOfRiel) identified 605 copied or nearly identical posts among approximately 14,000 examined, raising questions about how the hospital rumour gained traction. Riel's findings suggest that a relatively small cluster of accounts drove much of the initial attention, although deliberate coordination has not been independently established.
