Married At First Sight (MAFS) bride Stella Mickunaite clocked early on in the experiment that “not everyone is wishing you happiness”, and this sentiment couldn’t be more true following her engagement to Filip Gregov.
The fan favourite couple told PEDESTRIAN.TV that they held off on telling their co-stars about their exciting relationship update until they filmed the Reunion in November, but they didn’t get the reaction they expected.
“It was like, ‘We’re so happy for you’ for two seconds and then ‘Anyway, so how about me’,” Filip revealed.
“Everyone’s just concerned about their own business at the end of the day,” Stella added. “I said at the beginning, not everyone’s happy for your happiness, and I still stand by it.”

The pair went on to name and shame Gia Fleur — who Stella clashed with from the beginning of the experiment — for allegedly not showing any interest in their engagement.
“I don’t think she said congratulations at all,” Stella claimed.
“We’re not expecting a Christmas card from her, let’s be honest,” Filip joked.
Meanwhile, P.TV contacted Gia about Stella and Filip’s claims that she didn’t congratulate them on their engagement, and she said it was “a flat-out lie”.
“I saw them after the publicity day and said congrats to them at the pub in Sydney. I’ve also tried to message Stella [but] she didn’t reply,” she said.

Why did Stella and Filip wait to tell their co-stars?
Despite being close with Alissa Fay, Rachel Gilmore and Bec Zacharia in the experiment, Stella explained that she waited to tell them about her engagement until the Reunion to respect their feelings.
“We wanted to be very mindful and not rub our happiness in people’s faces,” she said.
“We didn’t want to make people feel a certain way because their Final Vows didn’t work out,” Filip agreed. “We were trying to be respectful, because as you saw, it was heartbreaking for some people, it was awkward, there was hurt — it was all the above.”
The Reunion Dinner Party is set to air Sunday night, followed by the final couch session with the experts on Monday night. The majority of the cast are expected to return for one last hurrah, although Brook Crompton has already confirmed that she chose not to attend.
