Last night’s episode of Married At First Sight (MAFS) was a train wreck, to put it lightly. Not only were we introduced to self-proclaimed “mummy’s boy” Joel Moses, but we also met former soldier and devout Christian Tyson Gordon — whose controversial views on women and relationships make fellow groom Chris Nield look like a raging feminist by comparison.
Real estate agent Stephanie Marshall was the lucky lady paired with “anti-woke” Tyson, and while the pair seemed perfect on paper thanks to their shared conservative values, she quickly realised his views were perhaps too extreme for her.
He told her she gave off “masculine energy” because she had a career, and made it clear that she would have to become a stay-at-home mum for the five kids he wants in the future. Eek.
“There are a couple of alarm bells going off,” Stephanie said. “I am very much central in my opinions with regard to wokeism, MAGA, femininity. I’m not an ultra-feminist, but I do absolutely believe in equality.”
MAFS’ Stephanie reveals unseen moment
Amidst the chaos and sea of red flags, Stephanie has revealed there were actually a bunch of lovely moments from her wedding that weren’t shown on TV.
She told PEDESTRIAN.TV that she shared a sweet moment with her fellow participants Alissa Fay and David Momoh, Rachel Gilmore and Steven Danyluk, and Julia Vogl and Grayson McIvor, which gave her a glimmer of hope about her relationship.
“Those moments were the nicest moments of the night, meeting Alissa, Rachel, Steve, David, Julia and Grayson. I really found comfort in those moments, because obviously they knew exactly what I was going through, and they could even see how overwhelmed and nervous I was — and a little bit frightened, to be honest,” she said.
“They really reassured me, like, ‘Look, we all went through it, we know how you’re feeling, it gets a lot easier. It’s just all a lot right now’.”
Stephanie also said she sat down at Tyson’s “table of testosterone” and shared “a really nice moment” with his nearest and dearest.
“I was just getting to know his mates and who was there to support him, his dad and his uncle. They were both lovely,” she added. “And even his orthodontist, who was there. I thought it was strange that his orthodontist was there. I thought, okay, not your mum?”

Stephanie spills on her link to another groom
The newlyweds will soon move in together and attend the show’s infamous Dinner Parties with their fellow participants, although Stephanie is already well acquainted with one groom.
She told P.TV that she and Grayson were colleagues at a real estate agency almost a decade ago, and it was a huge relief seeing him at her wedding.
“I worked with Grayson back in 2017 for a very short moment, so to see his face was really comforting as well,” she shared.
“Just to think, ‘Oh my god, I know somewhere in this experiment, we’re both going through the same thing’, it was a bit of a comfort blanket. We literally worked together for two months, and I haven’t seen the guy since, but just to see his face, there was just a bit of comfort in that moment, which was nice.”
You’re probably thinking, will there be a couple swap between Stephanie and Grayson then? Well, Gia Fleur has already spilled tea about this season’s cheating scandal — but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
