Married At First Sight (MAFS) fans weren’t all that surprised when David Momoh walked out of Final Vows and refused to hear what Alissa Fay had to say in her speech. Brent Vitiello also stormed off in 2022, Lyndall Grace stopped Cameron Woods from reading his speech in 2023, and Ryan Donnelly yelled “Be gone, horrible woman” to Jacqui Burfoot last season.
What was surprising, however, was the fact that Alissa stood alone at the altar after David rejected her and proceeded to read her vows to an empty room.
“Alissa reading her vows to herself is the most deranged thing I’ve seen all year. Give her the Logie,” one viewer declared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

David shares his thoughts on Alissa’s Final Vows
David revealed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that he decided to walk away from Alissa because he simply “didn’t care” to hear what she had to say, and hearing her speech in Tuesday night’s episode didn’t change anything.
“It didn’t really do anything for me. I’m just more surprised she stood there and still read them out. I don’t know why you would do that. I don’t get it,” he remarked.
“Knowing Alissa, she would have just done it herself. No one would have made her do that, there’s no way.”
David admitted that he decided after the final Dinner Party that he would walk away from Alissa at Final Vows because he realised she cared more about “her brand” than him, and he made sure to speak first after she gave her vows first at their wedding.
“I knew that there was nothing to fight for, I knew that I was done,” he said. “I was like, I’m just gonna say what I have to say and go. I don’t care what she has to say, whether she wanted to stay or leave. I already made up my mind, because I got my answer.”
David reveals where he stands with Alissa now
Although he and Alissa have had “zero communication” since filming the show late last year — except when they filmed Stan’s aftershow MAFS: After The Dinner Party — David said he wishes her all the best in her new relationship.
“I have zero bad blood. I’m not gonna hold a grudge against Alissa — I’m happy for her,” he said. “I hope she finds a guy who loves her and cares for her like she deserves to be treated. I genuinely have no bad blood.”
He added that he has “no regrets” about appearing on MAFS and is “very happy” with his decision to appear on the show after years of casting producers sliding in his DMs.
“I genuinely went in for the right reasons. You can imagine, [as] an African guy, I’ve got so much to lose if I go on there for bogus reasons. People could see through it,” he said.
“That’s why I fully took it too seriously. I know there were people who probably put on a show so that MAFS wouldn’t be boring if people watched it, but I genuinely took it so seriously. So I think looking back, maybe I could have been a bit less serious with it, but I think I took it way too seriously.”
Alissa has since announced that she’s now in a relationship with Australian Ninja Warrior star Nathan Ryles, and we’re sure it won’t be long until David’s off the market!
