The long-awaited return of Married at First Sight Australia (MAFS) returned to our screens on Monday night as series 10 hopes to bring a bunch of fresh-faced newlyweds together and a whole heap of drama.
But just minutes into the show, viewers of the Channel 4 reality programme were tearing up at one bride's backstory, which left fans with a lump in their throat.
Bride Lyndall was one of the first up to the alter when she was paired with 27-year-old Cameron, who has never been in a serious relationship before.
The pair had been matched due to them both being seen as "starting new chapters in life" according to the panel of experts, which match the singles up to who they will be hitched with based on their characteristics.
Opening the show, Lyndall who works as an accountant, explained: "I definitely thought about my wedding day a lot when I was younger but you do kinda think well how can I ask someone to be with me forever when my forever is a lot shorter than theirs."
The blonde beauty went on to explain how she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at only three weeks old, a condition which means the cells in your lungs do not operate as they should and over time a lot of people end up losing their lung function.
"I remember finding out the life expectancy when I was in high school and doing the worst thing by googling it and at that point it was 32, a big thing for a 14 year old to see," she explained.
"A year ago I could see my health declining and I actually tried really hard to not think about the future because I didn't think I would have much of one but six months ago this new drug that got approved in Australia changed my life."
She added: "Statistically it is predicted to add another 40 years to my life expectancy and when I was told it was the best day of my life and the first thing that came out of my mouth was 'oh my god I am gonna be able to get married and have kids' I definitely do not want to waste anymore time.
"To go from a life expectancy of 30 years to now having so many to look forward to and finding my soulmate used to be unimaginable, and now I get to look forward to this everyday."
Lyndall said she is so ready to "meet the man of her dreams" and begin a new chapter in her life of finding love, and viewers couldn't be rooting for her more.
