Just hours after her relationship with David Momoh came crashing down during one of the most brutal Final Vows in Married At First Sight (MAFS) history, Alissa Fay has surprised fans by hard-launching her new romance.
The 33-year-old nurse and social media manager announced on Wednesday morning that she is in a relationship with Nathan Ryles, a personal trainer who has appeared on five seasons of Australian Ninja Warrior. Nathan, 33, is also from Adelaide and shares a four-year-old son with his ex-fiancée, Tori Stevens.
Alissa told New Idea that she and Nathan dropped the L-bomb just four months after they started dating, and they’ve already moved in together.
“Our connection is something I’ve never experienced before,” she told the publication. “He was unexpected; we didn’t plan for this to happen, you know, it just happened so naturally. I believe that he is my person.”
How Alissa and Nathan met
Alissa revealed that she and Nathan have known each other for years, as they share the same social circles, but their relationship only became romantic in December.
“I thought that I knew what love was, and I thought that I had felt love before, but this is a whole other feeling,” she gushed. “I believe he’s my soulmate, like he is my person, and I have found my person; he makes me so happy.”
Meanwhile, Nathan said he was “oblivious” to Alissa’s portrayal on MAFS because he’s not watching the show, but they “bring out the best in each other”.
“She’s treated me better than I’ve ever been treated, and I just love her so much,” he added.
David reveals where he stands with Alissa now
Alissa’s MAFS ex David told PEDESTRIAN.TV that, although he and Alissa have had “zero communication” since filming the show late last year — except when they filmed Stan’s aftershow MAFS: After The Dinner Party — he wishes her all the best in her new relationship.
“I have zero bad blood. I’m not gonna hold a grudge against Alissa — I’m happy for her,” he said. “I hope she finds a guy who loves her and cares for her like she deserves to be treated. I genuinely have no bad blood.”
He added that he has “no regrets” about appearing on MAFS and is “very happy” with his decision to appear on the show after years of casting producers sliding in his DMs.
“I genuinely went in for the right reasons. You can imagine, [as] an African guy, I’ve got so much to lose if I go on there for bogus reasons. People could see through it,” he said.
“That’s why I fully took it too seriously. I know there were people who probably put on a show so that MAFS wouldn’t be boring if people watched it, but I genuinely took it so seriously. So I think looking back, maybe I could have been a bit less serious with it, but I think I took it way too seriously.”
