Madonna health scare update as worried children 'stage intervention' for pop star

Madonna is reportedly said to have been "one step away from disaster" for a while as her children are set to "stage an intervention" after she was rushed to hospital and into intensive care last month.

The 64-year-old pop icon suffered the terrifying ordeal after developing a bacterial infection which subsequently saw her placed into an intensive care unit with some reports according to the Mirror even saying that the Material Girl singer was "intubated."

But it has now emerged that the singer's kids including 26-year-old daughter Lourdes have staged an intervention for their mum due to how she reportedly "punishes herself" and is said to go "overboard" with surgery, a source has claimed.

Madonna is also mum to Rocco, 22, David, 17, Mercy, 17, and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere, who are all said to be worried about their superstar mum who "acts like she's in her twenties".

It has been reported that Madonna's doting kids were very worried when they found out that their mother had been suffering a "low-grade fever for a month" and refused to see a doctor and are now trying to "talk some sense" into her and pleading with her to "pace" herself.

"Lourdes and Rocco have said for years that Madonna is one step away from disaster with the way she punishes herself, going overboard with the surgery and generally trying to act like she's still in her twenties," a source told Heat Magazine.

The source went on to say that the Queen of pops younger kids are telling their mum she "needs to change things". They added: "It's a serious intervention and they're determined to see it all the way through."

"The kids all agree that they need to talk some sense into their mum and let her know this is a major wakeup call," they concluded.

Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection on June 24 which was announced on June 28, as she had been rushed to the intensive care unit for "several days".

Guy Oseary her manager said at the time: "Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care."
