After much speculation and teasing on social media, Madonna drove her fans to ecstasy, announcing Tuesday morning that she’s going on a world tour to celebrate her 40-year career.
The announcement came in an NSFW video, which was posted on her YouTube page. Featuring stars such as Jack Black, Dido, Meg Stalter and Judd Apatow, the five-minute clip recreated a scene from the singer’s groundbreaking 1991 documentary “Truth or Dare.”
At the end of the video, Amy Schumer dares the Grammy-winning musician to do “a world tour and play your greatest motherf—ing hits.”
“The answer is: ‘F— yeah,’” Madonna responds, as the first synth sounds of “Vogue” get progressively louder and the entire room burst into celebration.
“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” the global music superstar said in a statement.
The 35-city global tour will kick off in Vancouver, Canada, on July 15 before visiting multiple cities in North America, the U.K. and Europe, including Barcelona, Paris and Stockholm.
The Celebration Tour, which is expected to wrap up on Dec. 1 in Amsterdam will take viewers on The Queen of Pop’s artistic journey through four decades. It will also “pay respect to the city of New York where her career in music began,” according to a news release.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Legacy members of Madonna’s Official Fan Club can jump to the front of the line, with a presale starting Tuesday at noon.
