INDORE: Kannaud police in Dewas district has arrested five people, including two minors, for murder of a 42-year-old man.
The accused, Chandan Rajput (23), Kali alias Abhishek Yadav (19) Laddu alias Omprakash Nagvel and two minors had killed Suresh Lodhi to loot his car, mobile phone, cash and other essentials, police said.
The police had recovered a four-wheeler and mobile phone from the accused. The incident came to light on June 24, when police got information about an unidentified body in forested village Kaloda Bee. The body was of Suresh Lodhi, 42, resident of Narsinghpur. The police recorded the death and started investigation.
ASP rural Suryakant Sharma said, “Police had taken help from cyber cell and went to the last location of Suresh’s mobile phone in Harda district. Subsequently, they sifted through CCTV footage and identified a suspect, who was seen sitting in the four-wheeler in front of a shop.”
“The suspect, Chandan Rajput, was questioned. During questioning he said that he and his friend Kali accompanied Suresh to help in getting alcohol. They had taken him to Khandwa bypass road in Harda. The duo asked Laddu and two minors to join him at a vacant place,” the ASP said.
As per plan, Laddu and two minors joined them, tied Suresh with a rope . Thereafter, they took him to the forested village and strangulated him, he added.
