Madhya Pradesh: ED begins probe into money laundering by 8 ‘Maoist couriers’

BHOPAL: The Enforcement Directorate has started investigations into money laundering by eight alleged Maoist ‘couriers’, who were arrested with a cache of ammunition, explosives and other material in MP’s Balaghat district last year. ED has sent a letter to Balaghat police, seeking information about the FIR and other documents related to the accused.

Those arrested were identified as Mumbaikers Sanjay Naji Bhai Chitrajhoda and Rohit Shiva Bhai Butani, Gondia’s Ghanshyam Shivlal and Vijay Jeevan Koreti, and Shakil Khan, Wajid Tethri, Tausif and Jitendra Kumar Agarwal from Rajasthan. They were arrested by central intelligence agencies and local police from Kiranpur area of Balaghat and were accused of supplying firearms and other materials to Maoists for a year.
