BHOPAL: Minister for legislative affairs Narottam Mishra came to the House on Thursday morning wearing a saffron safaa (turban). And as trends indicated that BJP would form government in four out of five states that went for assembly elections, there were chants of Jai Shri Ram in the House.
As soon as Mishra entered the House, BJP MLA Yashpal Singh Sisodia said, “The minister is looking great in a turban.” And Mishra replied, “There are only two issues today, from the North to East and from East to the North – it is only the lotus symbol.”
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called a special meeting with cabinet colleagues in which PM Narendra Modi, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union home minister Amit Shah and leaders of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa were congratulated for the party’s victory.
State BJP workers rejoiced and celebrated the party’s electoral victory with fireworks, distribution of laddoos, dancing to drumbeats in the presence of leaders including state unit chief VD Sharma. CM said, “This is the victory of people’s trust under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People have faith in our Prime Minister and look at him with respect.”
Meanwhile, LOP Kamal Nath tweeted on the Congress’ dismal performance.
“Election results are definitely contrary to our expectations. But in a democracy, the mandate of the people is supreme anandidates. Our leadership will review these results, brainstorms and see where we failed, ” he tweeted.
