This is the moment Australian Sevens player Maddison Levi proved why you should never give up chasing back on the rugby pitch.
The 20-year-old has already enjoyed a remarkable career at her tender age by playing professional Aussie Rules football and winning a Gold Medal with Australia Sevens at this year's Commonwealth Games. Now a clip of her somehow denying Madagascar what seemed a certain try during their Sevens World Cup match in Cape Town is doing the rounds, leaving many astounded.
The remarkable try-saving tackle on Madagascar's Veronique Rasoanekena came during Australia's opening match of the tournament - a 48-0 against Madagascar, who are playing in the tournament for the first time. A historic five-try haul from Faith Nathan set Australia on their way, but it was the tackle of Levi, who also crossed for a try herself, that kept the World Cup rookies off the scoresheet.
Incredibly, as the Rasoanekena crossed halfway, Levi wasn't even close to the action. There were three other Australian players between Levi and Rasoanekena, with Levi about 10 metres back.
However, she managed to steam past her team-mates before knocking the ball out of Rasoanekena's hands agonisingly just as the Madagascan was about to dot it down. Better yet, Levi got to her feet to show Rasoanekena some form of consolation after denying her a certain score.
Afterwards, Australia learned that Madagascar could only take one kit with them to their inaugural World Cup, due to being self-funded, meaning they had been using the same kit for both training and matches. As a result, the Australian team donated their alternate jersey to Madagascar to use as a training kit.
