'Machete thug' taunts 'East end boys do it best' at victim struggling to escape in sick video

A disturbing clip shows the victim of an alleged machete attack struggling to escape the scene as he is mercilessly taunted on camera.

The new video, taken by an alleged attacker, shows the victim on the ground moments after he was pounced on by five machete wielding thugs in Dennistoun on Tuesday night.

The man struggles to get to his feet and collapses as the person filming him taunts: "East End boys do it best ever. Any one of you rebels are next.

The thug then shouts "East End boys do it best" and laughs as he flees the scene.

It is understood the video was shared on Snapchat.

It is the second video to emerge of the horror attack. Earlier today we told how sickening footage showed a gang of four thugs repeatedly striking a man with machetes as he screamed in agony. A fifth man was seen standing on top of a hill carrying a large knife while watching the attack unfold.

The Daily Record has chosen not to run the graphic clip.

Police were called to Cardross Court at 8pm on Tuesday night after reports of a violent disturbance. A 22-year-old man was found at the scene and remains in critical condition in hospital.

A hospital source told the Daily Record the victim had lost limbs in the attack.

They said: "He was brought into A&E after the attack. He was missing his arms and legs."

A man, 27, has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

Police sealed off the residential street following the horror attack and were seen standing guard outside a block of flats.

Members of the community are now calling on Humza Yousaf to take action after the sickening footage was shared with the Daily Record.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.20 pm on Tuesday 30 May 2023, police were called to a disturbance in Cardross Court, Dennistoun, Glasgow.
