'Lovely' boy, 8, playing out with friends attacked by machete wielding man as mum cooked tea
A mum described her horror after a man swung a machete at her eight-year-old son who ducked at the last second to avoid the blade slicing into his head.

The primary school pupil, who lives off Arkles Lane in Anfield, was left with a small graze where the fearsome weapon nicked the back of his head. Witnesses told the ECHO that the machete was swung with such force it "would have killed him" had the blow connected.
Merseyside Police have confirmed four people, not including the boy, were taken to hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries after the rampage on Thursday evening (July 11). Three men aged 20, 40 and 48 were treated for a number of injuries while a 62-year-old woman, attacked in a house on Ince Avenue, remains in hospital receiving treatment for lacerations to her face, neck, body and arms.

A journalist who met killer Christopher Guest More Jr when he was a young man has remembered disturbing traits in his personality.
A gang of underworld criminals tortured cannabis dealer Brian Waters to death in front of his own family at a farmhouse in rural Cheshire on June 19 2003. In 2004 John Wilson and James Raven were jailed for torturing both Mr Waters and Suleman Razak, who worked at the cannabis farm.
In 2007, Otis Matthews was found guilty of the same offences. Christopher Guest More Jr, a prime suspect in the case, managed to evade justice for 16 years.
'Beautiful' mum-of-three whose 'children were her life' dies aged 37
An "amazing" and "beautiful" mum-of-three died just weeks after being diagnosed with cancer for the second time.
Charlotte Hedgecock, originally from Fazakerley but living in Widnes, died on Wednesday, August 3 from secondary breast cancer. The 37-year-old leaves behind daughters Olivia, 12, Florence, six and Verity, five.
Charlotte's schoolfriend Amy Warsop said the mum-of-three was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2019, but after treatment was given the all clear. However, back in May this year doctors confirmed the devastating news the cancer had returned in Charlotte's liver and she died just 15 weeks later.
