A section of the M876 motorway through Falkirk is to be closed for three nights as £155,000 worth of resurfacing improvements is set to begin this week.
The westbound carriageway will be closed between J1 Checkbar and its merge with the M80 at J8 Bankhead from 7.30pm until 6am on Thursday April 14, Friday April 15 and Tuesday April 19.
A diversion route will be signposted from M876 Junction 1 Checkbar to M80 Junction 7 Haggs via the A883 and the A803, adding an estimated five minutes and 2.7 miles to affected journeys.
Temporary traffic lights will be located on Larbert Road and the A8004 to provide access for local residents.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: "These surfacing improvements will significantly improve safety and ride quality for motorists using this slip road onto the M876.
"Carriageway closures are essential to ensure the safety of workers and road users, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption and will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible."
