A crash on the M8 is wreaking travel chaos in Glasgow, with dramatic pictures showing the aftermath.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the M8 westbound near junction 13 at around 11.50am on Friday January 21.
Cops have shut down a stretch of the busy route following the two-vehicle smash.
The M8 remains closed westbound between J12 at Cumbernauld Road to J13, with drivers urged to find an alternative route.
Shock pictures from the scene show a lorry after it appears to have crashed into a central reservation amid the collision.
The accident is believed to have happened in the westbound lane, heading into the city.
Traffic Scotland is warning motorists vehicles are being diverted from the motorway.
There are currently long delays following the incident with traffic at a standstill.
First Buses has also alerted passengers to the disruption affecting a number of services including X3, X11, X85 & X87.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11:50am on Friday, 21 January 2022 police were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the M8 westbound near junction 13.
"Officers are at the scene and the westbound carriageway is closed. One lane of the M80 slip road remains open. Enquiries are ongoing. Drivers are urged to use alternative routes."
