A man and a woman have been injured following a serious two-vehicle collision on the M7.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at Junction 9 and resulted in both parties needing hospital treatment.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene and a man in his 70s was taken to Naas General Hospital while a woman in her 40s was taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment.
Delays were experienced at the time of the collision, however, officers confirmed the road is currently open.
In a statement to the Irish Mirror, a garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí attended a two car road traffic collision at junction 9 of the M7 northbound.
“A man in his 70s was taken to Naas General Hospital and a female in her 40 was taken to Tallaght University Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
“The road remains open at this time.”
