Five motorways in Merseyside will be closed this week with delays expected for motorists on the M6, M53, M56, M57 and M62
The motorways will be closed for essential roadworks and National Highways has told drivers to expect delays. The road closures will be overnight between Monday, June 6 and Sunday, June 12.
It comes after the region saw no motorway closures last week due to the special and extended bank holiday weekend. However, this week sees the start of a five-month-long set of roadworks for the M57 between junctions one and two.

Here's a list of all the motorway closures you can expect this week:
Monday, June 6
The M6 southbound between junctions 21A (Croft Interchange) and 26 (Orrell Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 southbound between junctions three (Heswall Island) and four (Clatterbridge) will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
Tuesday, June 7
The M6 southbound between junctions 21A (Croft Interchange) and 26 (Orrell Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 northbound between junctions 21 (Winwick Interchange) and 24 (Ashton Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions three (Heswall Island) and five (Clatterbridge) and eight (Rossmore Road Interchange) and seven (Netherpool Road Interchange) will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M56 westbound between junctions 12 (Mersey Gateway Bridge) and 15 (Stoak Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 5am.
Wednesday, June 8
The M6 southbound between junctions 22 (Winwick Interchange) and 26 (Orrell Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 northbound between junctions 21A (Croft Interchange) and 23 (Haydock Island) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions three (Heswall Island) and four (Clatterbridge) will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock Interchange) and two (Prescot) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
The M57 southbound between junctions two (Prescot) and one (Tarbock Interchange) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
The M62 westbound between junctions seven (Rainhill Stoops) and six (Tarbock Island) will be closed between 8pm and 5am
Thursday, June 9
The M6 southbound between junctions 23 (Haydock Island) and 26 (Orrell Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 northbound between junctions 21A (Croft Interchange) and 23 (Haydock Island) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 southbound between junctions six (Heswall Island) and seven (Netherpool Road Interchange) as well as nine (Station Road Interchange) and 10 (Stanlow Halt Interchange) will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions eight (Rossmore Road Interchange) and seven (Netherpool Road Interchange) as well as four (Clatterbridge) and two (New Brighton) will be closed between 8pm and 5am
The M56 westbound between junctions 14 (Elton) and 15 (Stoak Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock Interchange) and two (Prescot) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
The M57 southbound between junctions two (Prescot) and one (Tarbock Interchange) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
The M62 westbound between junctions seven (Rainhill Stoops) and six (Tarbock Island) will be closed between 8pm and 5am
Friday, June 10
The M6 southbound between junctions 23 (Haydock Island) and 26 (Orrell Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 northbound between junctions 22 (Winwick Interchange) and 23 (Haydock Island) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions four (Clatterbridge) and two (New Brighton) will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M56 eastbound between junctions 14 (Elton) and 15 (Stoak Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock Interchange) and two (Prescot) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
The M62 westbound between junctions seven (Rainhill Stoops) and six (Tarbock Island) will be closed between 8pm and 5am
Saturday, June 11
The M57 southbound between junctions two (Prescot) and one (Tarbock Interchange) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.
Sunday, June 12
The M6 southbound between junctions 23 (Haydock Island) and 21A (Croft Interchange) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 northbound between junctions 22 (Croft Interchange) and 23 (Haydock Island) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
