The M6, M53, M56 and M57 are all set to close all week with drivers being warned to expect 'delays'.

Sections of the Merseyside motorways will be partially closed this week for essential roadworks and National Highways has warned drivers to "expect disruption". This week (July 4 - 10) will see two motorways, the M6 and M57, closed over the weekend for work.

National Highways announced the M57 between junctions one (Tarbock Interchange) and three (Randles Farm) would be closing overnight for around five months after they tried to carry out repairs on potholes for two years. Despite attempts to repair the road, the carriageway continues to deteriorate with potholes and other issues forming regularly.
