M6, M53 and M57 to close this week with 'severe delays' expected

The M6, M53 and M57 will all partially close this week with drivers being warned to expect "severe delays".

Sections of the motorways will be partially closed this week for essential roadworks and National Highways has warned drivers to expect "severe disruption". This week (July 18-24) will see no weekend closures for the first time in two weeks.

National Highways announced the M57 between junctions one (Tarbock Interchange) and three (Randles Farm) would be closing overnight for around five months after they tried to carry out repairs on potholes for two years. Despite attempts to repair the road, the carriageway continues to deteriorate with potholes and other issues forming regularly.
