M5 multi-vehicle crash near Bristol sparks major emergency response

A multi-vehicle crash on the M5 near Bristol sparked a major emergency service response yesterday morning (February 9). It has since been confirmed that the crash only resulted in minor injuries.

Police officers, paramedics and traffic officers were called to the collision on the southbound carriageway between junction 21 and junction 20 at around 7am. A picture from the motorway shows a number of marked and unmarked Avon and Somerset Police vehicles at the scene, as well as National Highways crews and South West Ambulance Service paramedics.

The collision resulted in long delays on the route yesterday morning. It was reported that a lane closure was put in place to allow for emergency barrier repairs between junctions 21 and 20.
