Roads are expected to be shut for most of the day after a lorry was left hanging off a bridge on the M1 in the early hours. It comes as the heavy goods vehicle smashed into a bridge barrier over the A14 shortly before 4.40am on Monday, April 24.
Officers arrived at the scene where the driver made a lucky escape from the lorry and was left injured, Leicestershire Police confirmed. The M1, A14 and M6 at the Catthorpe Interchange near Lutterworth were shut as a result, reports Leicestershire Live.
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area with expected closures throughout the day. The truck has since been removed by a crane which was deployed to the scene.
