The number of chicken products being recalled from the high street is growing after Waitrose and Marks&Spencer both removed items for sale. Both retailers have taken some of their chicken sandwich range off the shelves due to a potential salmonella risk.
Both chains said they taken the decision as a "precautionary measure" and urged customers not to eat the sandwiches and wraps.
The move came as Pret A Manger removed all the chicken items on its menu, and Aldi recalled its chicken and bacon Caesar wraps and Sainsburys took action on its cooked chicken offering.
