More details have been revealed about the all-new Marks & Spencer store coming to Liverpool ONE.
The M&S store is set to open in the vacant building on South John Street that was home to Debenhams up until its closure in May 2021. The 100,000 sq ft store is set to open in mid-2023, with the retail giant opening across two floors.
M&S will be leaving its current location on Church Street, with the new store being home to a "next generation" foodhall, clothing and home departments. The store will also feature a café, a dedicated coffee-to-go section, an in-store bakery, food-to-go aisle and an extensive fresh fruit and vegetable selection.

Pete Dobson, regional manager at M&S , added: "We’re really excited to announce the relocation of our M&S store into the heart of the city in Liverpool ONE. The new store will offer the very best of M&S in a prime location in the city centre. Customers will be able to shop across a wide range of M&S products in our new foodhall and clothing & home departments, in a fresh, modern store with fully integrated digital technology to support customers however they want to shop.
Grosvenor's signing of M&S will help fill the landmark building which has been empty for more than a year, with the new store looking to become a staple of Liverpool ONE.
Alison Clegg, Managing Director, asset management, Grosvenor, commented: "The signing of M&S at Liverpool ONE is a great reflection of Grosvenor’s strategy of marrying the needs and wants of consumers to those of leading brands. M&S is seeking modern space that allows it to deliver an enhanced experience for consumers, who themselves are searching for ever-greater choice and value.
"By working closely with the M&S team, combining our consumer insight with theirs, we have created what we all believe to be a fantastic new store."
The site has also been at the centre of major plans that have been approved this year which will see the empty high street store turned into a £10m go-karting, bowling, indoor golf and retail development. Gravity Entertainment is behind the project and it's hoped the complex, which would share the space with M&S, will attract 700,000 visitors a year.
Not only that but plans have also been submitted to open a new rooftop terrace and performance space at the top of the building. The application was lodged earlier this year, with a decision yet to be made on whether the plans should go ahead.
