The Perth Lynx have suffered their heaviest loss in more than three years, a 93-62 hammering from ladder-leading Melbourne Boomers, in round six of the WNBL season.
The Lynx were left to rue a 27-4 final quarter that ended all hope of victory on Thursday after they came into the last change only eight points down at home.
Perth missed all of their last 13 field-goal attempts, with their final points of the game coming with little more than six minutes to play.
American recruit Naz Hillmon led the Boomers with 20 points to go with her eight rebounds.
It came after the Lynx had handed the Melburnians their first and so far only loss of the season in round five.
The defeat was Perth's worst since a 102-62 drubbing from Southside Flyers in 2020, when the league moved to Queensland amid the COVID pandemic.
Despite that hammering, the Lynx rebounded on Sunday with a 98-95 overtime defeat of the Adelaide Lightning on the road.
The Lightning had led by as many as 20 points in the first half but Amy Atwell's three-pointer in the final 30 seconds sent the contest to overtime.
Once there, Aari McDonald (35 points) snatched the lead back with another late triple and the visitors edged home.
Elsewhere, veteran guard Tess Madgen celebrated her 250th WNBL appearance in the second game of the Sydney Flames' 2-0 round-six road trip.
Madgen, who joined the Flames from the Boomers this season, had 21 points and three assists as Sydney held on to beat the Canberra Capitals 72-70 in her milestone game.
After the talismanic Cayla George fouled out, Lauren Nicholson (26 points, four rebounds) cut through the paint for a lay-up that put the Flames up by two in the final 10 seconds.
The win in Canberra came after the Flames eked out a 66-64 win over the Lightning to begin the weekend, with Nicholson putting up 20 points in that game.
The Caps are still yet to win a game from eight attempts this season, having fallen to the Townsville Fire 84-55 in the final match of the weekend.
After taking a one-point lead into the first change, Canberra managed only 23 second-half points.
Townsville captain Sami Whitcomb finished with 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds as the Fire (6-1) took top spot on the ladder on for-and-against.
