Scotland strike duo Lyndon Dykes and Che Adams have been struck down by a virus in the camp ahead of the do-or-die Nations League crunch against Ukraine in Krakow. The pair missed training but will still travel to Poland. Boss Steve Clarke revealed the two frontmen were suffering from illness before flying out for the final Group B1 clash.
It's a blow to Clarke's preparations with Scott McTominay already suspended and Kieran Tierney and Scott McKenna also ruled out through injury. Hearts duo Stephen Kingsley and Barrie McKay have been drafted in for the match with Scotland needing just a point to top the group.
But the striking options will now be a concern if the pair fail to prove their fitness with QPR striker Dykes coming off the bench to bag two goals in the 3-0 win over Ukraine at Hampden last week after replacing Southampton frontman Adams and Jacob Brown having already withdrawn from the squad.
Clarke said: "There was one or two missing from training this morning. We have some kind of virus in the camp, just sickness. Lyndon Dykes and Che Adams didn't feel very well this morning but they will be on the plane. So we have that to worry about, so we are not short of issues and we are also not short of determination to go there and finish the job."
