Dishes available will include bruschetta with salsa rossa, marinated squid, and fettuccine with pesto and gorgonzola.
It's set to open in the summer.
Steve Pilling, of the Northern Restaurants Group, who will launch the eaterie, said: “Trafford Palazzo provides a wonderful backdrop to launch our new concept.
“Matterello aims to be famous for its contemporary Italian cuisine with traditional values, inspired by the palette of Southern Italy which will also include pasta making courses alongside the food and drinks offering.”
Northern Restaurants also runs venues like The Dockyard at Media City, the Moortop pub and La Cantina in Heaton Moor, and the Roost rotisserie restaurants in Heaton Moor and Wilmslow.
Other new additions to the Barton Square site include a branch of the Archies burger chain, also set to open in this summer.
