A luxury Edinburgh hotel has apologised after a guest was left furious at their 'foul' smelling room.
Known for it's premium service and elegant rooms, The Balmoral hotel on Princes Street has been frequented by many celebrities and high-class guests over the years, with most leaving behind five-star reviews.
However, staff at the hotel were forced to apologise earlier this month after a guest made a number of complaints about the quality of their stay.

Leaving a one-star-review on popular platform TripAdvisor, the guest had shared how they had booked a room for two nights in September, but had been unhappy with their stay.
Explaining their reasons for the review, the guest shared that they had needed to change rooms on the second night due to a "foul smell" coming from the air vents.
Describing their new room as a "complete mess", the guest said:
"We were here for two nights but on the second night had to change our room because of some very foul smell from the air conditioning vents (room no 246.)
"To add to the discomfort, we are put to a room which was connected to two other adjoining rooms. This room is a complete mess (room no 200.)
"After paying so much, one gets to experience this ! This is really sad .People, Beware ! You might end up in one such ugly rooms or with rooms with foul smelling AC ducts in this so called beautiful high end hotel of Balmoral, Edinburgh."
Responding to the review, The Balmoral was quick to apologise, and said the cause of the smell had been down to "technical issues."
They replied: "Thank you for taking the time to feedback following your stay with us. I am sorry however, you have left feeling disappointed following your time with us.
"From time to time, we are faced with technical issues in rooms that are unable to be resolve immediately so we would endeavour to offer an alternative option for our guests. I do apologise that you were unhappy with the second room option provided."
