There was a memorable moment for former Motherwell man Allan Campbell tonight as the Fir Park academy graduate earned his first senior cap for his Scotland in a win over Armenia.
The Luton Town star replaced Grant Hanley late on to help Scotland see out a comfortable 4-1 victory, coming almost five years after the midfielder made his under-21 debut against England in 2017.
And it left the Steelmen bursting with pride as they tweeted a throwback pic of Campbell on social media, while chief executive Alan Burrows was left beaming after their former player's introduction.
Burrows said: "So very proud of you Allan Campbell - you deserve it!"
Campbell made over 150 appearances in claret and amber before his displays earned him a big move down south last year.
Meanwhile, three Lanarkshire stars also featured for Scotland as they ended their latest round of Nations League matches with a much-needed three points in Yerevan.
Celtic duo David Turnbull and Anthony Ralston, along with Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson, all came on after 65 minutes in a triple Lanarkshire substitution.
It didn't all go according to plan for Steve Clarke's men as they bounced back from a disastrous defeat in Dublin on Saturday.
They fell behind after just six minutes when Bichakhcyan fired past Craig Gordon from close range.
But Stuart Armstrong struck two composed finishes either side of a red card for Arman Hovhannisyan before the break to put Scotland in control.
Early in the second half, John McGinn swiveled in the box and fired home from close range and Che Adams completed the win after 53 minutes.
There was still some late drama, though, as Kamo Hovannisyan also saw red for a nasty tackle on Lewis Ferguson.
After a long, gruelling season, the squad will now have a few weeks to recuperate before the start of the 2022/23 league campaigns. The Nations League returns for Scotland in September at home to Ukraine.
